Application parameters are preferences that you enter into the application to control how the application presents data. For example, the Building Operations Console includes application parameters that control what information you see for your work requests. Setting an application parameter affects the application as a whole.
If you keep the default settings for the Quick-Start application parameters, the application does the following:
If you are satisfied with these settings, you do not need to do anything.
The following procedure describes how to change these settings, and when you might want to do so.
To set the Building Operations-specific application parameters:
The Quick-Start Application Parameters screen appears.
Application Parameter | Description |
ShowEquipmentOnReportProblem |
By default, this is set to No (No is 0). Set this parameter to 1 (1 is Yes) if you want to show equipment on the Report Problem form accessed from the Building Operations Console. You would show equipment if you want to do any of the following:
If you decide to show equipment on the Report Problem form, you will need to define some equipment data. You can enter the equipment as you work from the console, or you can use the Background Data task for adding equipment and equipment standards. See Managing Equipment for an overview of the steps you take to get started managing your equipment. |
WorkRequestsOnly | You can use the application parameter ‘WorkRequestsOnly’ to control whether the Console shows only work requests, or also shows work orders that group work requests. This application parameter is used by the Quick-Start SLA interface to determine whether or not to show the Assigned to Work Order status. By default, this is set to Yes (1) in the Building Operations Console (only work requests are shown), but you can change this setting if you decide to use work orders to group multiple work requests. |
