Quick-Start / Building Operations Console

Exporting and Printing Work Request Data to Word and Excel

From the Building Operations Console, you can use the Filter to see specific groups of work requests that are of particular interest. For example, you can filter to see the 10 oldest requests, the 10 newest requests, all unassigned work, or work with a certain estimated cost. Once you get a list of this work, you might want to share this information with others who do not have access to the application. In this situation, you can export and print the data to a variety of formats.

Additionally, as a single-user call center, it is often useful to print out the work requests, and give it to the person doing the work so the craftsperson has all the details.

Printing from the Building Operations Console

To export and print out a single or multiple work requests:

  1. From the Building Operations Console, use the Filter to locate the work requests you want to print. For example, If you are assigning work to specific craftspersons, you might want to filter by a craftsperson, and by the Issued status, so that the file includes only work assigned to a single craftsperson. Alternately, you can select any issued work that you want to assign to a particular person.
  2. Optionally, select the check boxes for the work requests you want to print. If you are printing all requests on the screen, you do not need to select specific work requests.
  3. Click the Export icon to see the list of export options. Select one of the following:

The Paginated Report View appears showing the progress of the export.

  4. When the export is completed, the link in the Result View or File column becomes active. Click on the link to open the file.

When you click the link to open the file, you are given the choice of also saving the file to your computer.

  5. You can now print this file.

Printing Reports

Several reports have a DOC or XLS button that prints the report to a Word document or XLS file. Sometimes there is a bar chart button that converts the data to a bar chart. The bar chart then has a DOC button to convert the report to a Word document that you can then print.

When you click, Doc or XLS, you are asked if you want to open or save the file. To store the file for future use, you should save it. You can then open the file to print it.
