The application ships with predefined data found in the BOSMED sample data. This data includes the basic information you need to get started using the application, such as problem types, locations and craftspersons for work requests, and room categories and types, employees, and sample floor plans for space.
The BOSMED sample data is provided with Quick-Start so that you can use the Space Console or the Building Operations Console to practice key tasks that the application automates. You can even use this database as a starting point for your own data development -- simply add new records reflecting your site and its operations to the BOSMED sample data. When you are ready, you can use the Delete Sample data to run a routine that strips the Boston Medical data from the database and leaves you with just the data that you entered.
When you delete this sample data, you are deleting everything associated with the BOSMED building, and the metrics shown on the Quick-Start Home page. However, the following data remains:
The application also ships with metrics shown on the Quick-Start Home page. The data for these metrics was entered into the application, rather than being calculated from the sample data. The metrics are provided as an example of how you can use the application to calculate these metrics based on your own data once you are working in the applications. For Quick-Start users who want the metrics shown on the Home Page to be calculated from their inventory data, this occurs as part of the Delete Sample Data task. This task removes the sample metrics, and enables the calculation of these metrics based on real inventory and work request data.
To delete the BOSMED sample data:
The Delete Quick-Start Sample Data screen appears.
When you delete the sample data, the metrics shown on the Home Page are activated. This means that these metrics are calculated from your data, rather than showing sample metrics that the application ships with.
