table-group

One table, or a group of tables, that is stored in a grid, or that is presented in a data band in reports. One table in a table-group is the main table, and all other tables play the standard role; they supplement the fields in the main table. The tables within a table-group are connected by common keys. For example, the Rooms table has a Division Code field which specifies the division that uses the room. A Rooms table-group can include the Rooms and Divisions tables, with the Divisions table in the standard role to provide supplementary information about the divisions using the rooms. In this case, the Division Code value in the Rooms table acts as a foreign key to link the two tables into a table-group. Table-groups are named according to the main table; a table-group with Rooms as the main table and Divisions in the standard role is known as the Rooms table-group.
