In the ARCHIBUS Capital Budgeting and Project Management applications, a project defines a specific goal that you want to accomplish as part of your capital budget plan. A project is usually associated with a capital program. A project must be requested and approved before it is implemented. Each project is made up of action items, which may be entered at the time of the request or at a later date. Each project must be defined by a project type.

Projects are stored in the Activity Projects table, which is also used by other applications, such as Clean Building, Commissioning, Condition Assessment, and Compliance Management. The Project Type field enables each application's views to filter projects appropriately.
