The Problem Types table is used in several ARCHIBUS applications.

In the Preventive Maintenance and On Demand Work applications, problem types define frequently occurring maintenance problems, such as installation, leaks, and safety, as well as preventive maintenance

Within Service Desk, the Problem Type field is used by service requests that have a Request Type of SERVICE DESK – MAINTENANCE. The value is validated by the Problem Types table and defines the root cause of the maintenance issue, such as leak, vandalism, or preventive maintenance.

In Clean Building, hazardous substances are stored in the Problem Types table. Also, typical Clean Building actions, such as abatement and inspection, are stored in the Problem Types table and use the prefix CB|, such as CB|INSPECT.

Since many types of values are stored in the Problem Types table, the table uses the unlimited-tier hierarchy feature, so that you can group related problems under the same prefix, such as CB|INSPECT or LEAK|CEILING.
