To effectively use ARCHIBUS Space Management & Planning, you must have floor plan drawings. Depending on your CAD and BIM skills, you can outsource this task, develop CAD plans, or develop BIM Models.

Option 1: Outsource your drawing development

If you are not a CAD user, outsource your drawing development.

Option 2: Use the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD or DWG Editor

If you are a CAD user and have purchased the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD or DWG Editor, follow this procedure.

1. Prepare drawings for ARCHIBUS (video - 5:58)
2. Create your gross and room polylines. There are a few methods:
   • Draw new gross and room polylines (video - 9:32)
   • Use existing gross and room polylines (video - 3:26)
   • Start from a scanned drawing (video - 13:54)
3. Register the polylines in ARCHIBUS and publish the floor plan.(video - 5:25)

Option 3: Use the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for Revit

If you are a BIM user and have purchased the ARCHIBUS Smart Client Extension for Revit, follow this procedure:

• Attach an existing model (video - 14:36)
• Prepare your BIM Model for facilities management (video - 5:08)
• Start from a scanned drawing (video - 17:00)
