Working with Documents in the Document Library

Once you add documents to the library, you may need to open them, check in new versions, change their lock status, or delete them.  To do so, you will use the buttons (Check In, Lock, Delete, etc.) that appear next to the document field. The exact functions that you can perform depend on your security settings and how the system administrator has enable the document management system.

To work with documents in the document library:

  1. In the Process Navigator, click EH&S/ Documentation / Track EH&S Documents.
  2. In the Filter pane, complete the fields to help you find your document and Click Show. The system lists all document entries meeting the restriction in the in the middle pane.
  3. Locate the entry for the document that you wish to work with and click Edit.
  4. The system displays the properties of the document in the lower pane.
  5. In the lower pane, locate the document field, which has buttons for accessing the features of the document management system.
  6. Use these buttons to check in a new version, lock the document, and perform other tasks. For information, see Using the Document Management System.
