Create a New Employee and Assign to a Room

One of the most common tasks you may encounter is finding space for a newly-hired employee. Once the hiring manager or Human Resources informs you of the new hire, you will need to enter the employee into the system and then consult the floor plan to find an available space for this employee. If your site

  1. Load the Space Console and choose Occupancy mode.
  2. In the Employees tab, click the Add New button.
  3. In the resulting Add Employee form, enter key information about the employee, such as identifying name, descriptive names, and date of hire. For information on all the fields, see Define Employees. If you know the room to which you want to assign the employee, you can enter it directly in the Add Employee form. Otherwise, leave the location fields empty for now.
  4. Click Save on the Add employee form. The Employees tab now includes the new employee.
