Executing Projects (Process Overview)
In the project
execution phase, the facilities manager uses the Management Console to
manage a project's daily tasks. This can include tasks such as keeping
communication logs, monitoring the status of work package actions, managing
change orders, reviewing vendor invoices and payments, and analyzing cost summaries.
For a description of the entire project management work flow, see Project Management Application Overview.
From the Management Console, you work with one project at a time. The Management Console's tabbed interface facilitates selecting tasks for any phase of project management.
Management Console - Execute Tasks
The Execute process includes the following tasks:
- Review Project Profiles: Use the Review Project Profiles task to review and edit projects having any status. This is the only Execute task that does not use the Management Console. See Reviewing Project Profiles.
- Management Console - Plan: Add, edit, or approve work packages. Edit actions and add them to work packages. Schedule actions using the Gantt chart, adjust design costs, and view documents or drawings associated with a project action. See Planning Using the Management Console.
- Management Console - Procure: Review bids and contracts, and vendor performance and payment history, enter bids for vendors, view variance reports for bid cost and duration estimates, approve bids, and publish and record contracts. See Management Console - Procure (Overview).
- Management Console - Communicate: Assign team members to projects, and create communication logs to communicate with your team members. View communication logs by date and time, by action, and by communication type. Create service requests and view service requests by action. See Managing Communication Using the Management Console.
