Often outside contractors are brought on site to perform specific functions. The contracted activities can include hazardous materials - either materials that exist on site, or materials that the contractor brings on site. Outside contractors must comply with your organization's standards for dealing with hazardous materials.

For materials that exist at the facility, the on-site health and safety staff can provide lists of MSDSs specific to the locations where the contractor will be working, either online or in a printable (paginated report) document via the MSDS Locations Highlight report.
Hazardous material the contractor brings on site: When the contractor brings hazardous chemicals on site, typically they must provide the appropriate hazard information for these substances, including :
That information can then be entered into the MSDS database using the Define MSDS task. In addition, the locations of these materials can be entered using either Assign MSDS Location or Assign MSDSs to Floor Plan. Then, any of the reports discussed in the Access to MSDS use case can be generated as required to disseminate information to those who have a need to know.
